Central Tendency is a term used in statistics to express the "central" point of a sample, which may express the whole sample.

- Arithmetic mean (Arithmetic Average) - the most frequently intended meaning when the word "average" is used. It is also the default meaning when the term "mean" is used without specification (see the other types of means below).
